Evidence of the Unexpected
Opening Reception: Sunday, June 1, 1 to 3 PM The Crown Gallery at Metro Arts Studios
Participating artists include Alexandra Rutsch Brock, Petey Brown, Mark Rosenthal, and Jacqueline Shatz.
This exhibit brings together the evocative work of four artists exploring the edges of perception through ceramics and paintings. This dynamic exhibit delves into the intricacies of observation, the fleeting nature of time, and the complexity of existence. With a blend of quirky invention and emotional depth, the artists present imagined figures, surreal forms, and layered narratives that challenge reality while honoring its impermanence.
The exhibit runs from June 1 to July 19. Gallery hours: Thursday through Saturday, 12 to 4 PM and by appointment. www.metroartstudios.org/crowngallery

January 9 – March 2, 2025 | Opening Reception: January 11, 2025Susan Eley Fine Art is pleased to present an exhibition organized by guest curator Katharine Dufault. The show includes 15 artists whose works range from sculpture, to painting, to photography.
Hudson
In the words of curator Katharine Dufault regarding her exhibition concept: "Janus is the double-faced Roman god who looks backward and forward simultaneously. This duality evokes the idea of being on threshold, standing at the entrance to a portal between worlds. It suggests a moment of transition, where the boundaries between realities blur, offering a glimpse into magical realms. It is, perhaps, and opportunity to perceive or even embrace something extraordinary, a fleeting moment of connection to the mysterious and the sublime.
Artists have been selected for their ability to transport viewers to new and
imaginative places. Through abstract paintings that capture a sense of movement,
photographs offering modern interpretations of the theme, or sculptures that allude
to hidden worlds, each piece serves as a portal. These artworks invite the viewer
to step through and explore. They challenge perceptions and ignite the
imagination, offering a bridge between the tangible and the intangible. Each artist’s
vision contributes to a larger narrative of discovery and transformation. By
engaging with these works, the audience is encouraged to embrace the unknown
and to see the world—and themselves—in a new light."
